From the 2006 major work released by the widely popular âge, Muv-Luv Alternative, the Type-00 Tactical Surface Fighter of the Empire of Japan, TAKEMIKADUCHI TYPE-00F Tsukuyomi Mana, is updated into Ver.1.5 to rejoin Kotobukiya’s model kit series!

Specifically a Type-00F, this giant robot is the personal unit of pilot Tsukoyomi Mana who used it in several famous battles including the Defense of Yokohama Base. The Takemikaduchi is a powerful TSF with massive angular armor plates, large clawed feet, and, of course, the distinctive horned head that’s immediately recognizable. Mana’s version features a super bright red color with details in black, purple, and gray that make it stand out from other similar units. With Ver.1.5, this model is recreated with a glossier finish compared to the standard version. The eyes and the lit areas of the character are recreated with clear parts and all other parts are pre-painted, so you can recreate a finish that is close to TAKEMIKADUCHI TYPE-00F Tsukuyomi Mana by just assembling the model. With multiple included weapon options including swords and guns as well as waist-mounted thrusters, you can arm and display Mana’s TSF as you like, and multiple points of articulation let you pose it in any dynamic battle stance!

Awesome looking bot, but this kit is a mess

I really like the look of this kit when its finished, but getting there can be a somewhat tedious process.

First off, the plastic feels really thin and brittle; it has a mirrorlike shine to it and doesn't feel as good as the plastic I encountered when building one of Kotobukiya's Zoids. This brittle plastic isn't aided by the myriad of fitment issues -- parts of this kit are either too loose or too tight basically everywhere. I had to thicken and sand a lot of the joints.

The fitment issues and plastic quality also create plastic that is really easy to break. The left skirting armor has a slot that was far too small for the peg it was supposed to accept, and thus the peg snapped off when i tried to remove the piece. I ended up having to slide in pieces of plapate and use copious amounts of plastic cement to hold it together -- and if I hadn't sanded down the ball joint on the end of it, it likely would have broken again when I attempted to attach it to the model.

Speaking of plastic cement, you're going to need a lot of it. I've built maybe 20 or so Bandai kits and (now) two Koto kits and I have **never** needed to use this much cement. Whether it be sealing up poor fitment that resulted in panel gaps, using it to hold parts in whose intended attachment mechanisms didn't work, or performing part repairs, I ended up needing both normal cement and extra thin cement and used both quite a lot.

Value is a tricky question to answer -- the build is very involved and I…
