The Five Star Stories
In the Joker Star Cluster, the elites wage battles using Mortar Headds: colossal, intricate giant robots driven in tandem by a superhuman Headdliner and a companion humanoid bio-computer called a Fatima. Among these pairs is perhaps the most consequential power in the universe: the immortal Emperor Amaterasu and his bride Lachesis, who carries within her a potential far beyond ordinary Fatima. Spanning millennia, star systems, and even dimensions, The Five Star Stories is revolutionary mechanical designer Mamoru Nagano’s life’s work. Originally born from his contribution to the 1984 anime Heavy Metal L-Gaim, FSS quickly went on to become a landmark work in mecha and manga as a whole.
