Who doesn’t love a little classic GM action? This improved GM model as seen in Mobile Suit Gundam Zeta features all the mediocrity you saw in the series! It comes with a beam rifle, two beam sabers with effect parts, and a shield, as well as decals for customization of the final product! Bandai has made changes for updated articulation since the first GM release, so this HG will definitely be an upgrade from the original just as the suit was in the show.

      Another solid and simple kit.

If you like GM's, you'll like this. Simple, cheap and easy to build. It's another great kit for army building, customization, or for when you need a break from more complex builds.

      A solid choice!

For a grunt suit made in 2011, it gets a 4.5.

Not a lot of extra parts, just an extra beam saber effect and a spare holding hand for the right. However, it comes with a decal sheet with tons of goodies! 3 lines of numbers going from 0-9, different shapes and 2 different colors. It has the EFSF, AEUG, Titans( BOOO TITANS) and Torrington Base decals.

      Articulation

-180* Arm bend. This GM can also do a pose where it is grabbing the beam saber on its backpack. Its connect with a ball joint. The PC can swing forward.

-Tiny ab crunch, since the torso is on a ball joint PC and peg.

-The legs have a thigh swivel and connection through a peg. It can do the splits, if you move the side skirts up a little.

-90* leg bend. You can do a kneeling pose, just need to find the right balance.

      -Ball joint for the feet.

-The shield connections , in my opinion, beats the HGUC RX78 Revive. It can connect to the back or the side of the arms.

      - 360* for the head. Don't expect too much up and down movement though.

-It can two hand the beam rifle while guarding, extra cool!

Is it faithful to the box art?

Theres no sticker for the beam gun camera. The hand covers are grey. The cover art lied!

      GM II build review

This is my first build in a long while so I should start by saying that HG models have come a long way from when I built them in the 90's.

The GM II was a nice building experience and like most HG models this one for me took about a day to get all the parts together (as of writing still waiting on the panel pens). while building was a breeze, I felt like the stickers were a bit of a hassle to put into place as some were very small and had to be placed into very tight place on the head and jet pack. Also, depending on how much detail you like in a HG, there are some places that require some seam removal but not too much.

The one thing that kind of disappoints me about the GM II is that it has a bit of false advertising on the box and images. The back of the hands are shown to be white. However, the actual model has full gray hands, which is kind of a let down.

Yet, in the end, this is a very good model to build for me as it gets me ready to do the next five kits that are on the way.
