      Good, but flawed

An impressive looking kit. However, the instructions are hard to read and the pieces are an extremely tight fit. Also, the joint connecting the waist and torso is too long and leaves an unsightly gap at certain viewing angles.

A really good looking, if flawed, Megatron

So I'm gonna start off with the negatives. The ball joint connecting his waist to his abs is too long, while it allows for a lot of articulation, it creates an unsightly gap between the waist and the abs, I had to drill through the polycap (are they still polycaps if it's not a Bandai kit?) and let the ball joint sit farther in to get rid of the gap. The knees on mine were really loose and had to be tightened with superglue (mileage may vary on that one, the knees on yours could be fine). For some reason they designed the thighs in such a way that the outward thigh swivel is impeded by the armor on the back of his legs, so he can't really get a wide stance, I thought I had put the legs together backwards at first. Also, I don't know if he's worth $50. That's the average going rate of an MG, and he's not as large as most MGs, he's somewhere between an HG and MG in height, nor does he have any sort of inner frame. Also, while not really a negative, there are screws in the hips to keep those polycaps attached, so you'll need a small phillips head screwdriver.

Now that those are out of the way, He's a really cool looking Megatron. Not hampered by needing to transform (ironic), there are no compromises to design or articulation. With the exception of the thighs, pretty much any Megatron-y pose you want to get him in, he can get in. And he's a real beefcake, nice and bulky, he looks properly imposing next to Flame Toy's IDW Prime. The grey plastic has a little bit of a metallic…
