HGUC MSA-0011[Ext] Ex-S Gundam

A Great Older Kit I just finished the old HGUC EX-S Gundam and it was a great build! I did have to do a good bit of painting, and the hips are not very poseable due to the suit design and the age of the kit, but it does make a really good looking kit. The kit is almost 20 years old but would almost pass for a recent design if it wasn't for the joints and some mold lines. So its a great kit as long as you are willing to put in a little work.

It was all right I find a lot of this particular kit to be hit-or-miss. Maybe I got a bad mold from Bandai? Maybe I got one of the older versions of this kit - because the box art for my EX-S was different. Anyway, several of the pieces had bleeds that I had to trim off, so it needed extra sanding. Once put together, the seams stood out very blatantly. The gun attachment doesn't stay in the waist area - short of gluing it. It's decently balanced, but it lacks movability due to the peg leg area - inside of a ball-socket joint for the legs. It's a beautifully designed Gundam - once put together.

Surprisingly stable This big beefy kit actually stands freely for me, which I didn't expect while building it. It's fairly massive, taller I think, than a Unicorn and head and shoulders taller than a Barbatos. The huge gun has myltiple mounting options, even connecting in place of a sideskirt if you wish. The cannons in the boosters have a small bit of hinge in them, and the S's solid piece cannons are also included. The 'wings' on the shoulders move and extend and mostly just get in the way. The HG doesn't transform like it's MG cousin.
