Samura mecha? Yes please! With a very heavy lean towards a Samura vibe, the Spinatio Sengoku Type really sings when it has a matching Samurai sword in hand! Unfortunately I found the sword's sheath to be a bit lacking in design. The sword sticks out directly 90 degrees horizontal from the hip - The sword sticks straight out basically. Thankfully there's plenty of other mounting options for the sword, so it's no biggy that I'm not a fan. Other than those the sheath design, I'm a huge fan of everything else about it. I decided with my model to also give the add-on armor a try and I'm happy I did! This was the first model I got where I needed to actually get something else other than a panel liner. There's some hydraulic actuators on the lower leg that really benefit from a metallic silver finish. I also had to get a thicker black for the hydraulic cylinder since my panel lining market just wasn't cutting it. Glad I did though, since now I'm happily painting a lot of my models! It was a great starting point to test my painting skills and, as with all 30MM models so far, very forgiving and easy to learn from!
